Before i cut my hair off

My hair had been permed for nearly all my life at least since i can remember. My mom helped me go natural once before in middle school but i ended up putting a perm in it again because it was too thick and hard to manage. I never had the problems of my hair breaking off from the perm because my hair has always been thick but it never wanted to pass should length and this is what led me to cut it all off. I wanted to have hair down my back and i knew it was possible with natural hair. My hair was limp and there was much you could with straight hair besides wearing it straight all the time and that's about it. With natural hair there is so much more versatility and i love it!!

My Big Chop

This is my first post on my blog about loving you.. Learning to love yourself is the key all success in life. I know i'm a little young to be talking about love especially loving yourself but many would say i have an old soul. I like most girls struggled with self esteem especially with that of comparing my self to other females inparticualry white females since ive gone to all white schools nearly all my life. Transferring to an inner city school my senior year allowed me to love myself and learn more things about myself. From this process of loving myself i did my big chop in april of 09'. It turned many heads but i got nothin but positive feedback and it brought me one step closer to loving my self for who i am.

This is about a week or two after i cut my hair and i rocked it like no other not caring what other people thought or what'd they say.. Im not gonna say i wasnt nervous the first day going back to school but i grew in my skin and loved my hair. Now that my hair has grown my hair is healthier than ever. It's grown nearly 6 inches and i love wearing breads for protective hair styles.
